Skill Test for Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) 2023
Skill Test for the eligible candidates of CGLE 2023 will be conducted on 04-08-2023 and 05-08-2023 across the country.
This skill Test will comprise of three modules, namely, Data entry Speed Test (DEST),
Power Point Presentation/Generation of Slides (MS Power Point), and Spread Sheet (MS Excel).
- For Data Entry Speed Test (DEST), a master text passage of about 2000 (two thousand) key
- Depressions will be given. Duration of this test will be 15 minutes.
- Candidates can only type the equivalent number of words given in the master text passage.
- Combination of alphanumeric keys followed by space is termed as one “Word”.
- After typing given number of words in the master text passage the space bar will not allow further typing of additional words.
- For example, if there are 500 words in the master text passage,candidates can type only 500 words and after that space bar will not allow the candidates to type any additional word, however, keyboard will allow the candidate to continue typing without using the space bar.
- In case Candidates type additional words/wrong words, thereby exhausting the allowed number of words before completing the master text, then they may use arrow keys/backspace key to correct
- wrongly typed word(s) or remove additional typed word(s) before proceeding to complete the master text.
• Candidates may note:
o The print out of the typed text will not be taken after the Skill Test (Typing Test/DEST).
o Candidates for English Typing Test/DEST are advised to choose English (United States) as their option.
o A demo video for the said Typing Test/DEST has been uploaded on the website of the Commission in the CANDIDATES CORNER for the benefit of the candidates.
• Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) comprises of additional two modules viz.
- Power Point Presentation/Generation of slides (MS Power Point)
- Spread Sheet (MS Excel) will be administered on MS Office platform (Microsoft Office-2007 and higher versions) and duration of each module will be 15 minutes.
These modules will be conducted one after the other.
After completion of both the modules, printout of the candidate’s work will be taken.
The candidates will have to give the print command and after getting printouts for Power Point presentation and Spread Sheet, they will also write their Roll Number, Name, Exam Date and Put their signature on each page.
• Candidates are advised to familiarize themselves with Microsoft Office – 2007 and above.
• All eligible candidates requiring extra time have been allocated in the second shifts.

Cgl 2023 – Declaration of result of Tier II
examination to shortlist candidates for evaluation of Tier-III (Descriptive Paper)

The Staff Selection Commission conducted the Combined Graduate Level
Examination (Tier-II) 2023 from 15.11.2023 to 18.11.2023 in the Computer Based
Mode and Tier-III (Descriptive Paper) on 22.11.2023 at different centres all over the
country.
2. Based on aggregate performance in Tier-I & Tier-II Examination, candidates
have been shortlisted, category-wise, for evaluation of their Tier-III (Descriptive Paper).
The candidates who are not qualified in Tier-II will not be eligible for evaluation of Tier-
III (Descriptive Paper) and they will not be considered for further selection process.
Separate cut-offs have been fixed for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer (AAO) (List-
1), Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Statistical Investigator- Grade II (List-2) and for
the posts other than Assistant Audit Officer(AAO), Junior Statistical Officer(JSO) and
Statistical Investigator-Gr. II (List-3).
3. As the Tier-II (Paper I & Paper II) Computer Based Examination was conducted
in multiple shifts, marks scored by the candidates have been normalized as per the
formula published by the Commission on its website on 07.02.2022. Such normalized
marks have been used to shortlist candidates for the next stage. Since, Paper III &
Paper IV of Tier II were conducted in single shifts, no normalization has been done in
respect of Paper III & Paper IV.
4. As per provision of the Notice of Examination (Para 14.3), only those candidates
have been considered eligible for short-listing to the next stage, who have scored
minimum marks in each paper of Tier-II as follows:
(i) UR: 30%,
(ii) OBC/EWS: 25%
(iii) Others: 20%
